Trump’s State of the Union snub and Pelosi’s paper tear are signs that Republican, Democratic tensions increase

All is fair in love and war—and that includes the growing public animosity between President Donald Trump and House majority leader, Nancy Pelosi.

Embroiled in the final days of the Senate impeachment trial, Trump gave his State of the Union address on Tuesday night. Sandwiched between his address were two dramatic gestures. Before he spoke, Trump handed Vice-President Mike Pence and Pelosi a dossier. When Pelosi put out her hand for him to shake. He did not acknowledge her. at all.

Jobs are booming, incomes are soaring, poverty is plummeting, crime is falling, confidence is surging, and our country is thriving and highly respected again! America’s enemies are on the run, America’s fortunes are on the rise, and America’s future is blazing bright.

Then at the end of his 78 minute speech, amid applause, Pelosi calmly ripped the copy she had. “It was the courteous thing to do, considering the alternative,” she told reporters when asked about 

In his speech, Trump made claims that has fact finders already showing how he lied on matters regarding immigration, jobs, the economy, cost of prescription drugs, manufacturing, oil and gas, healthcare, and social security.

The Trump-Pelosi tensions are an extension of the strain between the two parties, as the Senate votes on the verdict of Trump’s impeachment trial on Wednesday, at 4 p.m. Strategist report that it is likely that the majority-Republican branch of congress will acquit Trump. If he is acquitted, he will be the first sitting president that will run for another term after an impeachment trial.
