When doctors diagnosed John Durden with Covid-19, he didn’t know if he would make it. With the help of his children, the Newark resident followed protocols to survive the deadly novel coronavirus. Now he tells his story. 

After days of feeling not himself, the first Black glassier in a New Jersey union turned musician, John Durden, discovered he tested positive for Covid-19. We learn about Mr. Durden’s ordeal and also find out about his life and how he sees the current climate that intersects a health pandemic and social justice protests.
