Removing stigmas and myths on reproductive protections and abortion care | The Remedy

Dr. Deshawn Taylor, owner of Desert Star Family Planning, is 1 of 6 African Americans who own a facility offering abortion care services. The work is an uphill battle, but for her it is not only necessary, but rewarding.

On The Remedy Podcast, we talk to Dr. Taylor about abortion as a healthcare service and the stigma it carries in Black communities. Plus, we tackle the tough question of what does abortion care and reproductive services look like with a conservative US Supreme Court and the constant rolling back of abortion care rights. In our conversation, Dr. Taylor details her commitment to provide abortion care and other reproductive services at Desert Star Family Planning, while wearing many hats such as training other physicians to be more cultural sensitive and participating in political issues impacting communities of color.
