In late May, Sports Illustrated released its swimsuit issue featuring five WNBA players. Indeed, the issue highlighted their beauty under a gorgeous tropical shoot, the timing of the cover remains in question.
One of the the WNBA’s star players, Brittney Griner remains detained in Russia. Finally, the U.S. government admits that Griner is a political prisoner who might be swapped in a demand from Russia. More so, we get into the WNBA and their two-decade struggle to get recognition and similar respect to their NBA players, at the same time, how does the Griner situation leave the league tone-deaf to protecting and rallying for a Black woman who is right now, a noted political prisoner in the Ukraine-Russia war.
