Trump convicted on 34 charges. A felon, he stays in presidential race and likely to avoid jail time

A New York court found former U.S. president Donald Trump guilty on 34 charges concerning hush money to sex worker, Stormy Daniels.

Many think jail time is unlikely, but what does that say about the judicial system? Plus, how has Trump’s usage of his legal woes and now a felon as a way to relate to Black people a dangerously asinine gesture. But, he isn’t the first to attempt to pander to the Black vote with cultural stereotypes. With his pending sentencing, it seems like karma that he was convicted in the same city where the launched an attack on five innocent Black male youth who were wrongfully arrested and jailed in 1989 for a crime they did not commit. Eventually, they were exonerated after all of them spent time in jail.
